Update your classic cocktail with this decadent White Chocolate Pistachio Martini. Made with white chocolate liqueur, pistachio cream, amaretto, and vodka, it's nutty, chocolatey and oh-so-delicious. Elegant enough for the holidays or everyday toasting with friends and family!

I'm always looking for ways to use my favorite condiment-pistachio cream. The creamy, sweet green that stuff takes center stage in my popular pistachio muffin recipe and my no-churn pistachio ice cream.

So why a pistachio martini? Because I'm fancy, and I reckon you are too. I mean who can pass up a chocolate and pistachio combo? The white chocolate liqueur makes this drink decadent but light and preserves the pretty green hue of the pistachio.

The subtle sweetness of this white chocolate pistachio martini makes it smooth and easy to drink. It pairs well with dessert or can be served as a stand-alone signature cocktail for any occasion. For an elegant touch, serve it for St. Patrick's Day, Christmas, or New Year's brunch.

Pistachio martini ingredients

Your'e just four ingredients away from the perfect cocktail. The garnishes are optional, but add an elegant touch.

  • Vodka- Classic martini flavor.
  • Pistachio cream- Pistachio cream (pistachio crema) is a sweetened, flavored version of pistachio paste. You can easily find it online, in well-stocked grocery stores, and even in Costco! Don't use pistachio butter or paste, the cream is already sweetened and helps to balance the cocktail.
  • White chocolate liqueur- I'm partial to Godiva white chocolate liqueur (but unfortunately it's been discontinued, and it's difficult to find). However, these popular brands- Mozart and Bottega are just as good.
  • Amaretto- Just a touch of this Italian almond-flavored liqueur intensifies the pistachio flavor without making it taste like almond.
  • Ice
  • Crushed pistachios or white chocolate for garnish, optional.

Step-by-step instructions

Pour, shake, and sip! It's that easy.

Liqueur being poured into a cocktail shaker.

Step 1. Add the vodka, white chocolate liqueur, amaretto, and pistachio cream, to a martini shaker. Fill with ice and shake, shake, shake.

Step 2. Strain the liquid into a martini or coupe glass, garnish with crushed pistachios or white chocolate, and serve immediately.

🍸Expert tip

To garnish like the pros: Chop a handful of shelled pistachios. Dab some pistachio cream or melted white chocolate along the rim of a martini glass. Dip the glass in the crushed pistachios, turning it fully so it sticks. Place the glass in the freezer to get cold until ready to use.

Substitutions and variations

Don't have an ingredient? Check out these variations.

  • Chocolate liqueur- If you can't find white chocolate liqueur, you can use regular chocolate liqueur, Bailey's Irish cream, or Creme de Cacao.
  • Pistachio liqueur- If you have Pistachio liqueur on hand, you can use it instead of the pistachio cream.
  • Vodka- Replace the vodka with vanilla vodka for a fun twist.

Pistachio cream uses

Don't let that jar of pistachio cream go to waste! Make it the star of your next brunch.

  • Top your pancakes or waffles- Pistachio cream makes a delicious spread for pancakes or waffles.
  • Oatmeal- Use it in overnight oats or traditional oatmeal.
  • Add it to a cheese or charcuterie board, and serve with crackers
  • Make this pistachio cream toast or these pistachio muffins.

Storage

Enjoy your pistachio martini right away- that's the only way!

Frequently asked questions

My pistachio martini looks grainy. What did I do wrong?

Make sure you give your cocktail shaker a really good shake. Also, don't rely on the shaker's built-in strainer, strain the cocktail over a fine mesh strainer for the smoothest results.
